Orthopedic surgery

Orthopedic surgery

Orthopedic surgery is a branch of surgery that specializes in treating problems of the musculoskeletal system. Many different age groups suffer from bone disorders caused by genetic factors, sports injuries, or as a result of aging. Orthopedic surgery includes many surgeries; Such as spine surgery through an incision in the back, joint replacement surgery in which orthopedic surgery is where the affected surface of the joint is replaced with an artificial one made of metal or polyethylene, in addition to hand surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, and pediatric orthopedic surgery. The treatment of a herniated disc, or what is known as a disc, is resorted to using laser technology or through an endoscope, and the cost of orthopedic surgery varies according to the type of operation and the technique used in treating the patient. Some lifestyles, such as not exercising, sitting for long periods without doing any physical activity, and carrying heavy weights on the shoulder and back, result in pain in the bones and joints.

Trigger finger surgery

The trigger finger occurs when your fingers or thumb are crammed into a curved position as if pressing the "trigger". A trigger finger can occur in one or more fingers. The ring finger is often one of the affected fingers. The condition is also known as narrowed tendinitis.
Tendons are strips of tissue that connect muscles to bones. In the hand, tendons and muscles should work together to bend and straighten your fingers and thumb. Usually, tendons easily slide through a tunnel of tissue called a sheath. The sheath keeps the tendons in place next to the bones of the finger(s) or thumb.
With the trigger finger, the tendons become irritated, swollen (inflamed) and cannot easily slide through their sheaths. A bump (knot) may also form on the tendon, making it more difficult for the tendon to slide easily through its sheath.

Hip replacement surgery

Known as a hip operation, in which the doctor removes the entire hip joint that has a painful inflammation, fracture, or other condition that impedes movement, and replaces it with an artificial joint made of metal or plastic components. Hip replacement is usually used after all other treatment options have failed to relieve pain, as this procedure relieves hip joint pain, making walking easier, and helping to return to enjoying normal daily activities.

Knee joint replacement surgery

Knee joint replacement, knee soap replacement or knee implant is a surgical treatment in orthopedics and joints for those who suffer from arthritis, leg deformity and knee inability to function well, and in this process the knee is replaced with an artificial joint after the removal of its natural joint.

Elbow arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a procedure used by orthopedic surgeons to examine, diagnose and repair problems within the joint. Elbow arthroscopy is performed for painful cases in the elbow that do not respond to non-surgical treatment. Elbow arthroscopy involves the use of optical fibers and a small camera inserted through small incisions and the surgeon will first fill the elbow joint with fluid. The fluid helps the surgeon to see clearly the elbow structures.

wrist arthroscopy

Many diseases can be diagnosed and treated through wrist endoscopy. Endoscopic wrist interventions replace open surgery in the diagnosis of nonspecific wrist pain or in the treatment of many known conditions.
Thanks to operations performed through small incisions with the help of the camera, healthy tissue is not damaged, the rehabilitation period is shortened and the return to normal healthy life is accelerated.
Wrist arthroscopy can be used in cleaning streptococcal cysts and wrist infections, in classifying and treating wrist calcifications, in the treatment of rupture of the articular cartilage structure of the wrist called TFCC, in repairing injuries to wrist ligaments, mostly ligament SL, in repairing wrist bone fractures and resulting calcification which is very useful in treatment.

Hip joint resurfacing

Everyone knows or has heard about hip replacement. However, there are many people who have no idea what hip resurfacing surgery is and how it can be used as an alternative to complete hip replacement.
However, this does not mean that everyone who has been recommended for hip replacement can choose this replacement. Hip resurfacing is a less invasive form of joint replacement surgery, which is recommended only by selected individuals. Both hip resurfacing and hip replacement are aimed at relieving pain caused by degenerative changes in the hip joint. Both of these patients with osteoporosis of the hip joint can be advised.

Shoulder joint replacement surgery

Total shoulder replacement or shoulder joint reconstruction surgery is a surgery for those who suffer from unbearable shoulder joint pain, and this operation is usually recommended for elderly people whose shoulder joint cartilage has eroded, as in this surgery the affected parts of the joints are replaced so that they are replaced by an artificial shoulder joint made of metal and plastic, and it is important to know that after surgery not only the pain fades but some work also becomes possible

carpal tunnel syndrome treatment

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the middle nerve compresses between the fibrous ligament and its surroundings where it is subjected to pressure by the wrist and ligaments responsible for the movement of the fingers in the hand, and is one of the most common diseases of the nerves in the hands among women, which many of them overlook, and may be a minor health problem at times and other times its detection at a late stage causes a lot of trouble in the future.
Treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome should be started as early as possible and under the supervision of a doctor. Initial treatment begins with resting the affected hand and wrist for at least two weeks, placing the wrist in a splint to prevent the injury from worsening, and stopping any activities that may further worsen your condition.

Conservative (non-surgical) bone fracture treatment

Surgical treatment of bone fractures

Sometimes doctors resort to performing surgery based on the type of fracture and whether the bone can heal on its own over time or if there are other complications of the fracture, and during the surgery the bones are refixed and the fracture is splinted. It is worth mentioning that it is forbidden to perform surgeries for people if the patient suffers from problems or disorders in people with bone fractures, especially bleeding so that it cannot be controlled, sometimes surgical procedures are resorted to for broken bones, especially if the injury is associated with arteries and nerves or to prevent the worsening of the condition or osteoarthritis.

Injection therapy for osteoarthritis

It is a disease that results from the eating of cartilage that covers the knee joint, and acts as an elastic cushion to reduce friction between the bones for ease of movement, and it happens gradually as the cartilage on the surface of the joint weakens, then cracks and begins to erode until the surface of the bone is exposed and the bone contact increases and movement is difficult.
With the medical progress and the advent of plasma and platelet injections PRP have been used in the treatment of knee roughness by injection, where a sample is taken
Blood from the patient, and is placed in a device for several minutes to separate the components of the blood from plasma and platelets, then the knee is injected with platelets that contain growth factors and help heal injuries, reduce knee pain and prevent deterioration of the condition but they do not benefit significantly in late cases.

Cruciate ligament transplantation (cruciate ligament reconstruction)

Cruciate ligament replacement is the most common and widespread cruciate ligament operation. In it, the surgeon completely removes the torn cruciate ligament in preparation for a new ligament transplant. The muscle tendons used in the transplant are obtained from some positions in the knee joint of the patient himself. Usually, part of the muscular patella tendon connecting Patella knee patella and tibia bone can be taken. The hamstring tendon at the back of the knee can also be used as a bait in the transplant. This is as a self-donation of the desired part of the same body.

meniscus tear treatment

In each knee there is a cartilage in the form of a crescent or letter C, which serves as a pillow between the bones of the thigh and leg, and the meniscus is made up of proteins, fibers and fluids that contribute to avoiding trauma and fixing the joint. But with repeated pressure on the knee due to some reasons this cartilage can rupture, leading to pain.

Flat foot treatment

A flat foot has less arching than normal and looks flat on the floor.
it does not always cause symptoms, but sometimes they can cause pain in the heel, arch, leg or other parts of the body. Treatment can include orthopedics, stretching, weight loss, and wearing more supportive shoes.

Bone deformities treatment

The process of repairing bone deformities is a necessary operation that lies not only in the cosmetic goal, but also lies in removing the severe burden and great pressure on the joints that may lead to the full weight loading of the deformity area leading to the introduction of joint operations and other deformity repair operations. Bone deformity is more prevalent in children's cases, as they are more susceptible to deformities due to the child's osteoporosis and continuous growth and bone deformities are defined as the abnormal formation of bone tissue, leading to deformities in shape and impairment in movement.

bow legs treatment

Arching of the legs is a condition that affects the straightness of the bones of the legs in children to a large extent, and in some rare cases in adults, where the legs appear curved outwards with a large distance between the knees, even when the ankles are joined together!
Arching of the legs in infants is normal due to their curved developmental position in the mother's uterus, and the warp of the legs may continue until the child reaches the age of two As adults or older individuals, the curvature of the legs is often a sign of another disease, such as Blount disease or rickets, and long-term osteoporosis can lead to arthritis of the knees and hip area.
If the patient's leg is highly arched, the doctor can diagnose the patient by looking at his legs without any tests or analysis. If the curvature is largely blurred, your doctor may need to monitor your gait and pause. He may also need to make sure the knee arches angle and the legs are equal in length. Your doctor may order an X-ray to assess knee roughness and to measure the angle of curvature.

Removal of a fatty cyst ( ganglion cyst) in the wrist

Streptococcal cysts are noncancerous lumps that develop mostly along the tendons or joints of your wrists or hands. They may also occur in the ankles and feet. Streptococcal cysts usually look circular or oval, and are also filled with gel-like fluids that can be small streptococcal cysts the size of peas, while large ones can be about one inch (5.2 centimeters) in diameter. Streptococcal cysts can hurt if you press on a nearby nerve. Its location can sometimes interfere with joint movement If your streptococcal cysts cause problems, your doctor may suggest trying to drain the cyst with a needle. Surgical removal of a cyst is also an option, but if you don't have symptoms, treatment is not necessary. In many cases, cysts disappear without intervention.
